Forming a Partnership with You to Create the Life you Want

“You and I form a partnership to look at what you need in your life today, what you want for the future and how do you get there.”

This is supposed to be the time of your life. Is it?

Many baby boomers find themselves sitting back, taking stalk of their lives asking, “Is this all there is?”

What do you want to do now?

Midlife coaching can be a life changing process that can alter the course of how you view your future. This is your future. Invest in getting the one you want.

Do you have a life outside of your children? Be honest with yourself. If your life isn’t rich and full you are cheating your children of a parent that is fulfilled. Most parents really view self-care as selfish. We are taught to believe that putting our children first is critical. However, if we are empty and exhausted, we are simply not good parents.

Coaching will help you develop a parenting style that is in balance with your lifestyle, insuring you will be the best parent you can be.

Creativity is a gift. However, it can also be an addiction that drives you. When creativity has gone awry it can affect your finances, your relationships, and your leave you out of balance. If you are an artist or creative and feel frustrated that you aren’t living your potential or that your art is taking over your regular life coaching may be for you.

Coaching can help you develop a framework and a structure for your life and your art so you can thrive as a creative in a structured world.

Are You Ready For Coaching?

If you are considering whether or not to hire a coach, you are deciding if you are ready to embark on a grand adventure. Coaching is not for everyone, and even highly coachable people have times in their lives when coaching may not be what they really want or need. Here are a few important questions to ask yourself before making your decision:

Is this the right time for me to hire a coach?

If you feel like you are ready to make some important changes, the time is right for you. If you are extremely busy and cannot imagine taking on another thing, then the answer is "probably yes." The first thing you and your coach may want to explore is what to remove from your busy schedule to make your life feel simpler, more balanced, and manageable.

Can I afford coaching?

Make sure to look honestly at your finances before entering into the coaching relationship. If you hire a coach, you will be making an important investment into your life — equivalent in its overall impact to an advanced college degree (or possibly more). Are you able to pay the coach's fee for a minimum of six months without feeling like you are overextending yourself? If not, you may still want to continue, and work with your coach on improving your financial situation, immediately.

Am I willing to try new things?

During your coaching, you will be invited to look at old situations in new ways. You will be offered new concepts and different ways to approach things. If you are willing to try out new possibilities and stretch your creative side, you will get a large return for your investment. If you are a person who vigorously defends your old perspectives, you will still get much value from committing yourself to a specific course of action.

Is coaching what I am really looking for?

There are many other kinds of professional relationships, one of which might be more appropriate for you. Do you need an accountant, attorney, financial planner, or personal assistant? Your coach will certainly support you to find the right resources at the right time if you do. Just be aware that there may be additional expenses for professional services your coach is not qualified to provide for you. Are you experiencing chronic mental suffering or dwelling extensively on past events? If so, you probably want to talk to a therapist instead of — or in addition to — a coach. The idea is to build the kind of relationships that you really want and need.

  • Coaching can create sustainable and permanent change through intense listening and questioning skills and the use of assessments, principles and recognized coaching models
  • Coaching can help design the steps to create the changes needed for the client to move forward to a place that is positive for them
  • the Coach and the Client create fieldwork to be completed between the sessions; asking for accountability for change, while the Coach provides a hand to hold and an anchor during the change process
  • Coaching offers a clear path for the Client’s work to be sustainable and permanent
  • most Coaching is performed over the phone and through email support, thus providing the flexibility of scheduling sessions at times that are convenient; not having to go to an office allows the Client to be in an atmosphere that is quiet, comfortable and private for them to make the most of their coaching time; not having to go to an office allows for the Coach and the Client to be anywhere in the world – there is rarely a reason to miss a coaching session
  • Coaching offers an avenue and resource for the Client to reach their goals more quickly; the coaching relationship only lasts until the Client’s specific goals are reached; the option of extending the coaching relationship allows for more goals to be added or as the Client wants to maintain this neutral partnership for sustainability of the work they have done
